Directions
Rice: Cook 1 cup of white rice
Sauce: In a small bowl mix 2 tbs soy sauce, 1 tsp water, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tsp chilli oil, 1 tsp mirin and 1 tsp sugar. Mix well. In another bowl, add 2 egg yolks (be careful not to split them open) and cover with 1 tsp mirin and 2 tbs soy sauce. Set in the fridge.
Vegetables: Slice the ends off the beans and cut the broccoli into florets. Pop in a microwave safe bowl with a splash of water and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Steak: Heat a large pan to high heat and add 1 tsp canola oil. Prepare steaks by patting them dry with a paper towel and then season with 1 tsp salt on each side. Once the pan is hot, cook the steaks for 2-3 minutes per side until they have reached your desired cook. Remove and let rest.
Finish off: In the same steak pan, reduce the heat to low and add 1 tbs butter and 3 diced garlic cloves. Quickly sautee for 30 seconds, then add the cooked rice and toss.
Serve: Plate up garlic rice and top with vegetables and sliced steak. Add the cured yolk in the middle and drizzle with the soy sauce from earlier. Finish with crispy shallots and enjoy.
